Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use Pulse: restaurant owners and staff, and the people who order from them.

What we aim for

We design and test our website, Pulse Dashboard and the restaurant ordering sites to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. That includes:

• every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline;
• form fields have labels, and errors are explained in words and announced to screen readers;
• text has enough contrast against its background, including on buttons in a restaurant's own brand colour;
• images that carry meaning have text alternatives, and decorative ones are hidden from screen readers;
• pages work when zoomed to 200% and on small screens;
• we don't rely on colour alone to show information.

We check our pages with automated accessibility tools and with a keyboard, and fix problems as we find them. We don't yet claim full conformance on every page.

Known limitations

• Menu photos and descriptions on ordering sites are added by each restaurant. Some may not have full text descriptions.
• Some parts of the service come from other companies, such as Stripe's payment and payout forms and Google's address suggestions. We choose providers that support accessibility, but we don't control their forms.

If something on Pulse is hard to use, or you need information in another format, email info@pulse-pos.com and say which page and what you were trying to do. We aim to reply within 5 business days and will work with you on a solution, including providing the information another way. To order food while we fix a problem, you can also call the restaurant directly.
